On the lap
One annoying thing about the cavy is that they have very small bladders. When holding your adorable pet, please only hold for 10-15 minutes at a time. If you hold your guinea pig longer it may leak on you, and removing stains is a hassle.
Walking and holding
Please be cautious when you are walking and holding your Cavy. Once when I was little I dropped my guinea pig and temporally paralyzed her. She would drag her whole body in her pain and it was hard to watch (Don't worry she recovered eventually). Hold your cavy with two hands at all times to lesser the possibility of accidents.
Wires
When your guinea pig is out and about watch out for cords, cables, wires and all electronics. Guinea pig proof your home before letting your pet run around. ALWAYS SUPERVISE YOUR PET AT ALL TIMES!
