Guinea pig fun and games

Guinea pigs are very social. They like to play games that test their abilities, playing in cardboard boxes, running through secret passageways, climbing over obstacles, and playing in the sunny grass in the summer. There are all kinds of games and toys that you can create, and discover when you spend lots of time with your guinea pig. Other then shows, there are many different things that you can do with your guinea pig to keep it content.

Summer fun

In the summer time, instead of your guinea pig sitting in it's cage all day, you can take her outside. How do you take your guinea pig outside without it running away? Well the only way to take your guinea pig outside would be if you have a outside guinea pig run. You can make this yourself, or find it at a country feed store. Once you get your guinea pig run, place it somewhere in your grassy lawn, and your guinea pig will be able to munch on grass all day long. Make sure not to place it in direct sunlight, as this can potentially give your guinea pig heat stroke. Also make sure that the run has a shelter where your guinea pig can rest in the shade, away from the sun. Guinea pigs love playing in runs, and they love to play in the sunshine. A run is a very useful thing to have around the house, and your guinea pig will absolutely love it.

In the sleeve

My guinea pig is generally a small breed to start out with. Ever since she was just a little baby, I would put on my baggy bathrobe, and pet her inside her cage. My guinea pig soon discovered that my sleeve was a cool place, and that she could actually fit in it, so every time I pet her in her cage while wearing my bathrobe, she runs up my sleeve.

On the floor

Some Guinea pigs are more social then others, and I know that Michael's pig is one of them. If you put his guinea pig on the floor he goes crazy, and he bounces up and down, running all around with excitement. A great place to let your guinea pig run around is the bathroom or living room. Before letting your guinea pig loose in a room, make sure to remove or cover anything that could be a potential hazard for your pet. Close all the doors, and let people know that your guinea pig is in that room, so that they don't accidentally step on your beloved pet. Always supervise your guinea pig when it is loose, because she could get hurt, or favorite belongings. Guinea pigs need the chance to run free at least 30 minuets a day every day. Guinea pigs like to get fresh air, and explore different places every now and then. Always make sure to allow your guinea pig freedom to explore new places, and get plenty of exercise at the same time (Your pet should not chew on wires, but it might nibble on a book or two).
